Aero Clock Wall Clock with Pendulum Wooden Model

$84.00

What can you expect from the Aero Clock model?
Introduced to the market at a time when the world seems to have slowed down. Ugears Aero Clock, a wooden wall clock with a pendulum that you build yourself, is both timely and timeless in its simple elegance. This beautiful and functional wooden wall clock is a treat for horologists, hobbyists, explorers, creators, and romantics of all kinds. If you have ever looked at the sky and thought "I want to be there!" or looked at a pendulum clock and wondered "How does it work?" then the Aero Clock from Ugears is for you.
By building the Aero Clock, a wooden wall clock with a pendulum, you will learn the basic principles of clock mechanisms. You will discover how the stabilizing effect of the pendulum works through the swinging anchor, locking and unlocking the gears in the clock mechanism every second, thus regulating the (slow) descent of the weight that drives both the driving mechanisms and the timekeeping mechanisms.
The Aero Clock from Ugears with a pendulum is a wonderful puzzle and an ideal project for the whole family. When you work together to assemble this wooden clock model, you will experience the satisfaction of building something together. And it will not be just any model, but an actually working timepiece. A beautiful clock will hang on your wall, something your family can enjoy together as time passes.
The Aero Clock from Ugears with a pendulum is a new and exciting addition to the collection of fascinating Ugears mechanical models. It will complement your mechanical collection, STEM LAB, or board game collection.

The time has come! For years we have heard the same question over and over again from our loyal customers:
“Can Ugears create a working clock model set, one that actually keeps precise time?”
A working wooden clock mechanism has long been our number #1 among the “most sought after” new projects. This dream was also ours, and our team of dedicated Ugears engineers and designers worked hard to make this shared dream a reality. Finally, the wait is over. Ugears is honored to present Aero Clock, a fully functional DIY wall clock with a pendulum.
Aero Clock is not just a wooden 3D mechanical model, or just a nice display piece. The Ugears clock is a working timekeeper that you can build yourself, hang on the wall, wind up, and then watch the seconds, minutes, and hours pass by. Aero Clock is an ingenious puzzle and DIY clock mechanism, unlike any other clock. It is a beautiful piece of precision engineering that reveals the operation of a pendulum clock both for builders and viewers. Like all Ugears models, it also has that extra touch of whimsy to captivate and enchant our growing fan base.
Wooden Aero Clock – principles of operation
This simple yet elegant Ugears clock is powered by gravity pulling down a weighted bag (you can fill it with sand or salt). Lift the bag on the pulleys to wind the clock. As the weight slowly descends, it turns the drive wheel, which then turns the escapement wheel through the gearbox. The clock has an adjustable pendulum with weights that interacts with the escapement wheel through the rhythmic ticking of the escapement mechanism. The ticking of the clock can be adjusted to the second by moving the upper and lower pendulum weights. The gearbox also transfers rotations to the hour and minute dials. One interesting feature of our Aero clock is that time is not read by rotating hands on the clock face, but rather a fixed pointer indicates the time on slowly rotating, numbered hour and minute dials.
Moreover, these dials rotate counterclockwise. Did you know that before standardization, some clocks moved clockwise, while others moved counterclockwise? In the role of the “cuckoo” in the Ugears Aero Clock is a hot air balloon model. The suspended balloon drops sharply when the hour strikes, then slowly rises again over the next hour.
