Take command of one of 5 factions, choose the right commander and build an army based on powerful units to dominate the battlefield and gain the advantage that will decide the outcome of the game.
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is a strategic challenge in which each participant has their own deck belonging to one of the factions: the Northern Kingdoms, Scoia'tael, Monsters, Skellige or Nilfgaard. Our task is to make the best use of its unique abilities and carefully play units to outsmart the opponent.
How does it work?
  • At the beginning, each participant chooses a faction and builds a deck. All cards in the deck must be in the color of the chosen faction. Each faction allows for a different play style and has its own passive ability, which allows for even better targeting of our strategy.
  • Players take turns playing, playing 1 card on the battlefield. Units are played according to the symbols on the cards into 1 of 3 rows: melee, ranged, or siege. Some cards also have special abilities.
  • Instead of playing a card, we can pass – then we do not play cards until the end of the round. When both players pass, the round ends.
  • At the end of each round, we calculate the total strength of all unit cards on our side of the battlefield. The player with the higher total strength wins the round, and the losing player removes their loss marker.
  • When we remove the last loss marker, we lose, and our opponent becomes the winner.
