Once every 100 years, outstanding witches and eminent wizards gather in a remote corner of the world, the location of which is a closely guarded secret. They meet to renew the energy network generated by the legendary Witch Rock. Secret spells and rituals allow them to preserve and strengthen their own powers, and to the one who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in the field of magic, they grant enormous energy and prestige for the next 100 years, until the next gathering.
Witch's Rock is a board game in which you take on the roles of learned guild masters gathered around an ancient sacred stone. Each person occupies 1 of 4 towers and starts the game from there. Prepare spells in your cauldrons and create a network of magical energy around Witch's Rock. Send out your witches, fish magical crystals from the cauldrons, and make good use of the pentagram and magic wands. However, do not forget about prophecies if you want to secure victory! Not all possibilities are always available, so you need to wisely use the opportunities that arise. After 11 rounds, the one who has gathered the most victory points will win the game and become the Chosen One of Witch's Rock.
What is it about?
During the games of Witch's Rock, each player uses their own set of action tiles, which they will place in the cauldron at their discretion. On your turn, you choose 1 of the available tiles and place it in such a way as to cover 2 empty spaces in your cauldron, then perform actions related to the played symbols.
- Energy action - gives immediate victory points by connecting areas on the crystal ball using energy charges.
- Crystal action - is used to move crystals located in our cauldrons, which allows unlocking additional spaces and performing extra actions.
- Witch action - allows placing and sending our witches to areas of the crystal ball, through which we gain points and fulfill prophecies.
- Wand action - allows moving a pawn on the wand track, where additional victory points and various bonuses await us.
- Pentagram action - enables moving pawns on the pentagram, which allows obtaining valuable tokens and additional tiles that can help in implementing the chosen strategy.
- Scroll action - allows acquiring valuable cards: spells, which enhance the effects of our actions, and prophecies, i.e., high-scoring goals checked at the end of the game.
A key element of strategy in Witch's Rock is playing action tiles in such a way as to group identical symbols, thereby increasing the number of actions of a given type that we can perform at once.
