"The sound of horns can be heard everywhere, signs of the end are carried" - thus Heimdal, the brightest of the gods, will begin his song when Ragnarok, the time of the end, comes. It is said that the enemies of Asgard will sail to the home of the Aesir on a ship made of nails. Naglfar, the enemy's fortress, will float on the rainbow, and it will be steered by Loki himself, the divine trickster, who will reveal his cold origin and together with the giants under the command of Hrym will sail to the fortress of his adoptive father. The ice giants from Jotunheim will initiate the winter of centuries – Fimbulwinter, every inch of earth, the roofs of huts, and all objects not stored in time will be covered with ice. When the gods fight their battle in the heavens, we must prepare for frost and cold. Chop wood and stack it, cover our huts with kindling, line the interior with skins. Keep animal fat in pots, smoked meat and preserves in clay huts and earth pits, supplies for two years. And wait until Thor and the Asgardians defeat the giants, bind Loki in a cave, attach him to a rock, and dripping drops will torment him from the ceiling. Spring will always prevail.
