Once Midas was not the famous Polish stand-up comedian known throughout the internet who records “A Puppet Show for the Reporter,” nor the skin and opponent from Fortnite season 2 chapter 2, but he was a mythological character. Midas (or from other sources Mita) was a Phrygian king from the 8th century BC, who invaded the Assyrian and Anatolian coast under the rule of Sargon II. That Syrian ruler got angry and eliminated all of Midas’s supporters. Mita himself died at the hands of the wild Cimmerian people, who were fleeing from the land of the Scythians. Didn’t you know that? Ah, right, you only know the mythological character of the foolish king created by his opponents. Let me guess - King Midas has donkey ears!? And he has to wear a turban, and the king’s barber was guarded better than the firstborn. The reed revealed the king’s secret, didn’t it? Yes. What else? The foolish and greedy king turned everything he touched into gold… including bread, water, and his own daughter. To break the spell, he had to wash himself in the Pactolus river. Known superstitions of people who wanted to turn a hostile ruler into a funny, small story that doesn’t take their home or kill their loved ones.
