Every night he was strapped to the bed because he screamed maniacally about tentacles wrapping around him from the inside, tightening around the brain. He incoherently informed everyone gathered about a great threat from the hands of fish (sic!), octopus heads, lairs of great beings at the bottom of the oceans. He clenched his hands, his neck muscles clearly tensed in agony. His mouth and tongue were secured – he could bite them off. It hurt. It hurt a lot... hell on earth. And so for weeks. The doctors were helpless, so soon after a verdict was passed – lobotomy. A rod was inserted through the eye socket and struck once in the frontal lobe. The patient became a vegetable. After the procedure, he only babbled incomprehensibly. As if he had invented his own language full of the letters “k, t, l” and “u”. Just before death, he stood up, looked into the nurse’s eyes and very clearly said one word. “They are coming”. Then he fell lifeless to the floor.
