Genesys RPG is a universal role-playing game. This means that its rules allow you to play sessions in any chosen or invented universe. You can rely on your creativity or use sourcebooks with descriptions of worlds. The choice is vast: from heroic fantasy (Terrinoth Realms) through cyberpunk science fiction (Android: Shadows of New Angeles) to epic space opera (Twilight Imperium: Ember in the Ashes).
The heart of this game is the Narrative Dice System. Although practically every role-playing game has mechanics that allow you to determine whether characters succeeded in a given task, this system set a new standard in this regard. One roll of the dice not only allows you to determine success or failure but also creates a chance for your characters to experience other things - good or bad.
Thanks to this unique combination, in Genesys you can play dynamic and exciting encounters where players, together with the Game Master, create an exciting, twist-filled adventure.
Genesys RPG: Core Rulebook is 264 pages containing:
  • Complete rules for the operation of a dynamic and unique dice mechanic that is not limited to signaling success or failure. Thanks to it, every roll can unexpectedly and excitingly influence events in the game world!
  • The character creation process, allowing you to add any hero to your game, whether it is a dwarf knight or a bioroid commanding a spaceship.
  • Six universes to choose from: fantasy, steampunk, strange war, modern times, science fiction, and space opera. Game worlds are an extremely important element of the system because you can build your own scenarios and even games on their framework! All this thanks to guidelines on customization, themes, equipment, and character creation. In each of these universes, you will feel at home!
  • Descriptions of conventions that will help tailor the chosen world to the desired style: horror, intrigue, crime, romance, superhero story, or adventure!
  • Flexible magic rules like never before. By adding magical skills to your world, you will be able to use an inspiring magic mechanic based on 8 universal effects. And adjust them as you wish!
  • Additional rules governing vehicle combat, hacking, and many other aspects of gameplay!
  • A free code with an electronic version of the rulebook (PDF available through the Drive Thru RPG platform), printed on the first page of the rulebook.
To fully enjoy the potential of the Genesys role-playing game, you will need at least one Narrative Dice Set, but you can also use a free dice rolling app! A special app has been created for this game, which you can download for free on any Android or iOS device. Just search for “Genesys dice” where you download apps, and you can jump into the game!
