Splendor

Splendor is a dynamic and almost addictive game of collecting tokens and cards that create the player's resources, enabling further development. Players take on the roles of Renaissance merchants trying to acquire gem mines, means of transport, shops - all to gain the greatest prestige. Once you are wealthy enough, you may be honored by a visit from a noble representative, which will further increase your prestige in the eyes of the competition.

Each player in their turn can take one action from the following three:
acquire tokens - three different ones or two of the same kind, buy or build a card - paying for it with owned tokens - gems and adding it to their cards on the table, reserve a card.
The last action allows the player to be sure that no one will take the card they have set their sights on or that an opponent will not build a card key to them.  This action costs you the entire round, but in return, you get a gold token, which can serve as any gem in the future.

All cards you buy give you permanent discounts on purchasing subsequent cards, some also give prestige points. The first person to reach 15 prestige points wins the game!
The game received the Best Traditional Card Game award at the Origin Awards 2015.
