What times, what customs. You cultivate a field of turnips behind your house. You do it three days a week because on the other three you have to perform corvée labor for the tyrant lord from the nearby castle and his retinue of knights, who are closer to mercenary peasants than noble defenders. On Sunday, the Lord's day, you can rest – once you have paid the tithe with galvanized metal coins to the priests. You also have to remember to mortify the body, confess, and pay for indulgences or the blessing of the field to gather abundant crops. And they are never abundant afterwards. You cultivate the field and pray that a share of work on your own land will be enough to survive the harsh winter in a wooden, falling apart hut. Death accompanies you at every step. Newborns die from hunger, cold, and diseases. Strong peasants die. From overwork, infections, and pain. Women die in childbirth. The elderly die on their own. Memento mori. The bell rings for prayers and for alarm. And when the lord declares war, you have to go fight or flee from invaders who will burn your hut and field, and God forbid, if you have a wife or daughter. They have practically unlimited applications - they work as realistic tokens in all games based on the exchange of cash and goods. They are also an atmospheric addition to RPG sessions and an indispensable element of LARPs!

Metal coins are quite heavy. The weight of the tokens is an additional factor building realism during the game.

These zinc coins are coated with a thick layer of nickel (silver), brass (gold), and copper (coppers). The coatings are oxidized, making them look as if they have been used for years.
