Feast for Odin

When the ancestors of today's Scandinavians went on conquests, they called these journeys Viking. However, the Vikings were not ordinary pirates
they were also explorers and settlers! In the times they lived, climate warming favored population growth, so harvests began to be insufficient. Therefore, they had to seek fertile lands where they could settle for longer.
In the strategic game A Feast for Odin, you will have the opportunity to look at the world of the Vikings from a completely new perspective. It is a true saga in the form of a board game, in which you take on the roles of clan leaders to develop your culture, conduct trade expeditions, and plunder distant lands. During the game, you will conquer and explore new territories, but also participate in everyday life activities. By collecting various items, you will strengthen your social and material position.
What is it about?
The basic rule of the game is very simple. In each round, you will place your Vikings on action spaces and immediately perform the associated actions. Each action space can be used only once per round, so you will quite quickly start to block each other. Decisions about where to go first will be crucial for your results.
During the game, each player has their own settlement board. The goal of the game is to cover as many fields on it as possible using tokens gained during the game. Properly filling the board will provide us with additional bonuses and protect us from losing points at the end of the game.
In each turn, we have many actions to choose from, and each of them will be effective to some extent
although of course it is best to follow a solid strategy. Most actions will also provide us with valuable points: we will receive them for acquired ships, visited islands, constructed buildings, as well as accumulated livestock and goods. The winner is the person who gathers the most!
Why will you love this game?
It is an elaborate, multidimensional strategic game in which every decision affects the possibilities and pace of our development. We have many tempting, profitable options to choose from, from which we try to select the best ones.
With such a large number of strategic elements, dice rolls related to individual actions add a pleasant touch of uncertainty and make the gameplay even more unique. This strategic board game was designed by Uwe Rosenberg, creator of, among others, Agricola, Ativa, and the cult Beans. In A Feast for Odin, he perfectly combines his passion for complex strategies with the mechanism of effective field covering known from the game Patchwork. This edition of the game includes a board for two-player gameplay and two mini expansions: Islands and Harvest.
