Álex de la Iglesia (director, screenwriter, and film producer, as well as a veteran of role-playing games) presents his own vision of the Call of Cthulhu in the 1920s. Investigators have only two days to stop the unexplained phenomena haunting the most luxurious hotel in Cairo. Will they have enough time?

The macabre joke combines free investigation with prepared events, making each game different and allowing for multiple playthroughs of the scenario. Keepers will find tools here to place new characters (e.g., themselves!) in the campaign and add randomness to the plot.

Two days of madness at the Shepheard's hotel

Investigators will be able to uncover secrets buried under the sands of ancient Egypt, participate in an extravagant costume ball, see the premiere of Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages, meet real personalities (Howard Carter, King Fuad I of Egypt, Aga Khan III, Benjamin Christensen, Agatha Christie, and Winston Churchill), and see familiar faces from the Call of Cthulhu canon again. They may also miss all this and find another mystery to investigate.

The manual contains:

  • Descriptions of many characters.
  • A chronology of events in the scenario and in the year 1922, which will help Keepers navigate the maze of characters and incidents.
  • A detailed description of the hotel with over thirty locations.
  • Sections with appropriate spells, artifacts, myth books, and monsters.
  • Random lists of secondary characters, rumors, and unexplained phenomena.
  • Printed maps of the hotel for players and a special diagram for the Keepers of Secrets.
