Call of Cthulhu Handbook: Horror in the Tatras - Polish Scenarios

The myths of Cthulhu are rampant in southern Poland! Mysterious murders, unexplained disappearances, and unspeakable horror… The scenarios from this handbook will throw your Investigators into a whirlwind of events from which only a few will emerge on their own. The mystery of the golden train, the activities of secret services during the PRL era, dramatic events during a large outdoor event near Częstochowa, a secret guarded by the inhabitants of Zakopane – these are just some of the things that await them.

The volume contains selected scenarios that were originally published in the collections Shadows of the Tatras and Horror over the Warta. WARNING! There is no new content in this supplement.

HERITAGE OF THE TATRAS – Paweł Jurgiel, Wojciech Rzadek
In the spring of 1936 in Zakopane, two worlds meet: the highlander world, full of folk beliefs and mysteries, and the metropolitan world of the bohemians. Investigators will have to skillfully navigate between them to solve the mystery of strange deaths in the town. Will they uncover the secret of ancient times? Will they get entangled in a political intrigue? Does the spirit of the mountains really exist?
GREETINGS FROM POLAND – Michał Dzidt
July 1971. In the small village of Syrynia, an enemy of the people's power is arrested. Unfortunately, evidence in his case is stolen from the police archive – photographs allegedly taken in the future, in which Poland rejected socialism. The investigation is taken over by Department X. The scenario is preceded by an extensive introduction describing the realities of the activities of the PRL's Department X.
TRAIN TO MADNESS – Maria Borys-Piątkowska, Władysław Kasicki
In the autumn of 1944, the famous gold train was supposed to depart from Wrocław. However, it never arrived at the station in Wałbrzych, and the treasures it was supposedly loaded with disappeared without a trace. What secret will the Investigators discover over 50 years later, delving into the dark history of the Riese project?
IN THE SHADOW OF LIGHTS – Adam Wieczorek
On the eve of a big outdoor event in Olsztyn near Częstochowa, public opinion is shaken by a suicide at Jasna Góra. A journalistic investigation reveals the true scale of the drama. Fighting human greed and ignorance, the Investigators try to prevent the greatest tragedy in post-war Polish history.
